Buttercup Group Camp Overview

Buttercup Group Camp is located in a forest area about 2 miles south of Big Bear Lake and near Pineknot Family Campground. Snow Summit Ski Resort is also nearby.

The group camp is for tent camping and can accommodate up to 8 vehicles and 40 people. It is generally open late April to early October. Amenities include vault toilets, 5 picnic tables, BBQ grills, a community fire pit and food storage lockers (bear boxes). Trash services is not provided (pack out all waste). Potable (drinking) water is available at nearby Pineknot Campground. Cell service is good in the area.

Buttercup Group Camp – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes hiking, mountain biking, fishing, boating, water sports, stargazing, picnicking and wildlife viewing. The town of Big Bear Lake also has many restaurants, shops and attractions.
