Sugar Pine Point (Eldorado) Overview

Sugar Pine Point Campground has 9 campsites and is located next to Lower Bear River Reservoir in the El Dorado National Forest. Campsites 6, 7, 8 and 9 have amazing views of the reservoir.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Campsite #7 and #8 are double-family units. Campsites #2 and #4 have stairs to the table/fire pit area. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Campground amenities include drinking water (faucet), vault toilets, overflow parking and trash collection. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host. Cell service is not available in the area.

Other campgrounds in the area include South Shore, Bear River Group and Pardoes Point. You might also like Middle Fork Cosumnes Campground.

Sugar Pine Point Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating (no motors), fishing, canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing. There’s also a decent swim beach area right below the campground.

Bear River Lake Resort is also nearby (about 1 mile) and has a store, restaurant, boat launch, boat rentals, dump station and showers.
