Hoover campground has 37 campsites and sits among towering trees on the shores of beautiful Detroit Lake in the Willamette National Forest. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each campsite also has a parking spur (35 to 45 feet), table, fire ring and grate.

Campground amenities include drinking water and flush toilets. Vault toilets are available at the Group camping area. There’s also a boat ramp adjacent to the campground and a nice day use area with about 1,000 feet of shoreline. Campfire wood is also available for sale from the camp host. Cell service is fair.

Hoover Area Recreation

Detroit Lake is the main attraction and includes 3,500 surface acres surrounded by groves of beautiful Douglas Fir. The area also provides easy access to many hiking trails in the Willamette National Forest and Cascade Range. Outdoor recreation includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing, jet skiing, swimming, fishing, hiking, picnicking, mountain biking and wildlife viewing.

Other campgrounds in the area include Whispering Falls, Santiam Flats, Riverside At DetroitCove Creek and Southshore.
