Moon Lake Campground Ashley National Forest Utah

Moon Lake Overview

Moon Lake Campground has 54 campsites located on the shores of the beautiful 2-mile long Moon Lake in a forested area of Ashley National Forest. Lodgepole pine, aspen and Douglas fir provide some shade to most campsites. Single-family, double-family and group campsites are available. Moon Lake Group Campground is also nearby and can accommodate up to 75 people.

Most of the spacious campsites have lake views and accommodate tents, trailers or RVs. Most parking spurs are 16 x 65 feet. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Hookups are not available. Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets and trash collection. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host or at the nearby Moon Lake Resort.  Moon Lake Resort also offers convenience groceries, ice, soda pop, fishing bait and gear for purchase. Cell service is not available in the area.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

The Moon Lake Resort is adjacent to the campground and offers small engine boat rentals. Flying J Outfitters is located one mile before the campground, at the Lake Fork trailhead. They offer both scheduled and walk-up horse rides as well as drop and pack trips into the High Uintas Wilderness.
