Henderson Point Overview

Henderson Point Recreation Area Campground is located in a forested area near the Virginia border and next to Kerr Lake / Reservoir. The campground has 75 spacious campsites and many are waterfront. Group camping is also available (up to 35 people and 20 vehicles).

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site has a table, lantern post, fire ring and grill. There are also about 43 with electric hookups in Area 2. Several others have water at or near the campsite.

Amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, showers, a dump station and trash collection. There’s also a boat ramp, boat trailer lot, fishing pier, playground and a nice swim beach/area. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, fishing, water sports, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, biking, picnicking, volleyball and wildlife viewing.
