Dean Gardner Overview

Dean Gardner Campground has 24 campsites and is located next to the Pine Valley Reservoir in a forest of large Ponderosa pine trees.  There are 21 single-family campsites (up to 8 people) and 3 double sites (up to 16 people).

The campground is generally open late May to early September. Amenities include drinking water and vault toilets. Garbage disposal is not provided (please pack in / pack out trash). Cell service is poor in the area. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 50 feet). Each site also has a parking spur, table fire ring and grill.

Other campgrounds (camping loops) in Pine Valley Recreation Area include Crackfoot, Ebenezer Bryce, Equestrian, Yellow Pine and Effie Beckstrom (Group). You might also like Mitt Moody Campground.

Area Recreation & Activities

Pine Valley is situated in the Pine Valley Mountains. A beautiful forest of Ponderosa pine and oak covers the area, offering partial shade. Mountain mahogany, juniper and sagebrush dot the landscape.  Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, picnicking, stargazing and wildlife viewing.
